Castle Hills First Baptist School is a technology driven institution where students, teachers, administration and even parents are involved in the use of some of the best educational technology available today.
Our school experienced a full upgrade of all computers and technology at the beginning of this school year. The upgrade includes newer technology in all areas for use by students, teachers, and administrative staff. All campus computers have a fully integrated, high quality filtering system to protect students in searching and navigating the internet.
Students have access to two fully equipped computer labs each with 25 work stations. One lab is for teaching classes with technology integration. The other lab is utilized for secondary student research, as well as providing the ability for students to take dual credit and other courses online.
Technology is integrated with the curriculum for all elementary classes. Teachers develop lessons and integrate technology to assist with the teaching and learning that takes place in the classroom. Students learn technology seamlessly while learning about the subject material.
All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade have a technology/computer class in every school year. High School students take an advanced technology application course in the required curriculum. The advanced course allows them to continue in their knowledge and skill with various programs including the full Microsoft Office Suite and introductions to web design, video editing, and other programs that can be utilized in today's marketplace.
Teachers also have access to various forms of classroom instructional technology including interactive whiteboard devices, state of the art document cameras, and the use of internet programs to enhance the class room lessons.
Our school's parents utilize a valuable communication port via the RenWeb Data Management System. Parents have access to their student's records, including the teachers' lesson plans, homework assignments, gradebook, and a direct line of communication with the classroom teachers. RenWeb states on it's website: "ParentsWeb [the valuable online parent access tool] is a secure portal that keeps parents connected real time with everything that is happening with their students in school – maximizing convenience, allowing them to stay involved and driving better academic performance."
